Environmental Litigation Deputy City Attorney
The litigation attorney will work with the Portland Harbor Superfund Site team within the Office. The position requires a minimum of seven years of experience including coordinating complex litigation preferably including environmental litigation. Familiarity with environmental law issues is preferred. The position will involve complex multi-party negotiations, liability allocation, written and oral advocacy, review of technical documents, and working with an interdisciplinary project team. Salary depending upon experience.

About the Office
The Portland City Attorney's Office is a law office of over 40 attorneys and 30 legal support professionals, equivalent to a mid-sized Portland law firm. The City Attorney's Office manages, directs, and integrates a wide range of complex, sensitive legal services, often involving issues of significant visibility and substantial consequence for the City. The Office is responsible for both for providing legal advice and advocacy on highly complex and sensitive issues in diverse areas of law to the Mayor, City Council, bureau managers, other City employees, boards and commissions for ensuring that City officials and employees comply with the legal and ethical standards outlined in statue and code.

  • A Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Oregon State Bar Membership, in good standing, or membership in good standing in theBar of another jurisdiction, with the ability to obtain Oregon State Bar Membership.
