Gilda R. Daniels, Associate Professor of Law, University of Baltimore School of Law
With the presidential election fast approaching, now more than ever, it is crucial for us to be prepared to mount a defense against the assault on voting rights. Gilda Daniels is a nationally recognized expert on election law. She previously served as a Deputy Chief in the United States Department of Justice Civil Rights Division under two administrations. Professor Daniels will examine the phenomenon of voter suppression through the lens of history, race, law, and the democratic process. She will also explore efforts to curtail voting, including restrictive laws and deceptive practices, and focus on the role of women in protecting the right to vote.
Professor Daniels explores all this and more in her new book: UNCOUNTED: The Crisis of Voter Suppression in America.
