Hear from leading experts in understanding President Trump's two Executive Orders on immigration, intended to establish a "travel ban" on travelers from certain Muslim majority countries and refugees, and the legal challenges to that order.

On January 27, 2017, President Trump signed Executive Order 13769, titled "Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States." That Order sought to create limitations on travel to the United States from certain countries and by all refugees. In response, there were numerous protests and court challenges. On March 6, 2017, the President issued Executive Order 13780, which revised the scope of Executive Order 13769. The distinguished panel of experts engaged on this issue will highlight the provisions of these two Orders and the current and potential legal challenges.

This catered program is sponsored by the Immigration and Human Rights Committee of the D.C. Bar International Law Section. Co-sponsored by the Inter-American Affairs Committee, the International Dispute Resolution Committee, the International Investment and Finance Committee, the International Trade Committee of the International Law Section, and the Litigation Section. Doors open at 12:00 pm.
