This interactive, moderated program is based on the new ABA book Marketing Success: How Did She Do That?, which features interviews with 46 successful business developers, who just happen to be women lawyers. The program will discuss lessons mined from the book about how to ask for new business and get the work, turn prospects into clients, and what to say and do when you pitch for new work and successfully close the deal. You will walk away with time-tested ideas that can be put into action immediately.  

Cost:
The program is complimentary for everyone, and registrants will receive a code to use to purchase the book at a discount.  Everyone must have a separate registration in order to attend.  You do not need to be an ABA member in order to register.

Speaker biographies:
Jessica E. Adler, the founder of The Law Office of Jessica E. Adler, is an experienced attorney who concentrates her practice in all areas of family law. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar (Co-Chair Family Law Section), the Virginia State Bar (Member, Family Law Section), the Virginia Bar Association (Member, Domestic Relations Section), the Bar of Maryland, the United States Supreme Court Bar, the Ohio State Bar (inactive), the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia (Past President; former Co-Chair, Solo and Small Firm Forum), and Hadassah (Attorneys' Council). She is currently serving on the board for the local chapter of the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association. She has been elected to the D.C. Bar Steering Committees for both the Family Law Section and the Law Practice Management Section. Jessica has also been appointed Vice-Chair to the D.C. Bar's Practice Management Service Committee. Jessica was listed as one of Virginia's Legal Elite in Family Law/Domestic Relations for 2006 by Virginia Business Magazine. Jessica has completed training in divorce mediation as well as collaborative law. She served as President of the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia for the 2013-2014 bar year. She has an AV Preeminent rating with Martindale Hubbell and has been named a Rising Star in Family Law by Super Lawyers. She practices in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

Anne Collier is a catalyst for executives stepping into power. She empowers others to create a fulfilling life; she gives clients a competitive edge that gets them to their goals quicker and with more ease. Anne’s work guides clients to discover a fresh perspective through proven assessment tools such as the MBTI. Her work includes leadership and team development, personal branding and refining executive presence, and business development coaching. She is a published author and is currently venturing into eLearning to maximize impact. Anne is a Professional Certified Coach and has her JD from the University of Michigan Law School. 


Nancy Ortmeyer Kuhn is a director/partner at Jackson & Campbell and is chair of the tax group. She represents taxpayers before the IRS and state tax agencies, and litigates tax issues when necessary. Nancy also engages in tax planning for a variety of clients, and has filed many Freedom of Information Act requests with the IRS.
